Notifications & Activity

DotEnv keeps you informed two ways: an activity log that records what happened in your organization, and notifications for things that need your attention.

Activity log

The activity log is your organization's audit trail. Open it at Activity (/dashboard/activity).

It records actions taken across the organization — for example creating or changing projects, secrets, members, API keys, and settings — so you can see who did what and when. Use it to:

  • Review recent changes and confirm an action took place.
  • Investigate unexpected changes.
  • Support compliance and audits.

Availability and retention of detailed audit logs can depend on your plan. See Billing & Plans.

Notifications

Notifications surface important events directly in the dashboard. Open Notifications (/dashboard/notifications) to see your list, and open any item (/dashboard/notifications/{notification}) to read the full details.

Use this area to catch up on things like invitations, billing or usage warnings, and other account or organization events.

Email preferences

You control which notifications also reach you by email from your account's Notifications settings (/account/settings/notifications). Adjust these preferences to opt in or out of specific categories so you only get the emails you want.

Tip: keep billing and security-related notifications enabled so you don't miss usage warnings, grace-period notices, or sign-in alerts.
